How To Help

There are four ways you can help our mission:

The Sixth Street Shelter invites interns to work in many areas of our organization, such as Case Management, Community Outreach, Volunteer Management and Administrative positions . As integral team players, our interns work alongside us toward our goal of improving the lives and advocating for the families we serve. Interns are provided with an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge to our world of work, furthering their professional development in a meaningful and productive way. To inquire about internships, please contact or call at 610-435-1490.

Volunteers can work one-on-one with residents and their children. They work with the Family Resource Center, cover the reception area, tutor our residents, organize our basement or food pantry, and help clean up around the Shelter. Fill out one of our three volunteer applications.
